â€Å"My Theology of Worship† My theology of worship can be found in John 4:24: â€Å"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.† This is my theology of worship from this text, which can further be broken down into these four questions, which I will go in detail about how they relate to my theology. How worship functions in the relationship between God and humanity, where the sacraments fits into my theology of worship, the role of the church in corporate worship(community), finally; the role of the pastor in teaching, preparing, and leading worship. In Holy Communion according to Benedict, this is worship in action. There is movement, movement of the body, the hands, and etc. The four movements the author mentions in his book are as follows: entrance, proclamation amp; response, thanksgiving amp; giving, and sending forth (Benedict 2007). â€Å"Holy Communion is the widely most used form of worship among Christians; this sacrament is celebrated daily and weekly worldwide† (White 2000). Baptism is another way we worship God, this expression of identifying with our Lord as he was baptize in the Jordan by John the Baptist. Benedict says a lot about baptism in his book, for example; â€Å"Baptism is washing in the triune name of God, laying on of hands and anointing with oil, and the Holy Spirit, which nourishes and feed the newly born† (Benedict 2007). Benedict interprets baptism as a covenant with God, as well our community alike. This definition highlights my theology of worship from the holistic approach; it encompasses all aspect of mind, body, soul, spirit, and community. There is something about the church and the community of the church, this organization has always been there for the people, those that are bruised, poor, and the brokenhearted.
